The Singles Knockout commences on Monday 19th February with the Preliminary and First Round matches being played. The Second Round onwards are over consecutive Mondays. The draw is as follows:

Singles Final

The Final - Frame-By-Frame

Frame 1: Rob wins the toss and breaks off, potting a couple of balls in the process. He goes on to pot himself into a promising position before breakng down 3 balls short of the 8 Ball clearance. Rod goes in but hasn't had time to get his eye in and gives Rob a chance which he duly takes. Rob Goldsworthy 1-0 Rod Burrows.

Frame 2: Rod breaks off and balls fly everywhere but not one goes in. Rob comes to the table and gets himself into a promising position but after a brief safety battle, Rob fails to hit a cushion and Rod pots the balls to get on the scoresheet. Rob Goldsworthy 1-1 Rod Burrows.

Frame 3: Rob again has a cracking break and pots 3 blues before nominating yellows. He then goes on to pot 4 more balls before falling out of position. Rod gains a decisive foot-hold on the frame and wins to go ahead for the first time. Rob Goldsworthy 1-2 Rod Burrows.

Frame 4: Rod again comes up dry off the break and Rob goes straight on to the attack before Rod covers a pocket and the frame gets tactical. An exchange of deliberate fouls ensue before Rob leaves himself with a do or die shot on his last blue - the youngster plays a superb double off the bottom cushion and pots it in the centre pocket after flicking off the black. He follows it up with the black to pull the scores level. The match has all the hallmarks of being a cracker. Rob Goldsworthy 2-2 Rod Burrows.

Frame 5: If Rob could bottle his break and sell it then it would go for a fortune as again he pots a couple of balls and has his third real chance of an 8 Ball clearance off the break. Once again though he runs out of position and the clearance is a distant dream. Rod goes on the offensive but also runs out of position leaving Rob a chance of a finish but after giving himself a tricky black he proceeds to see it stay agonisingly over the corner pocket. Rod goes in and pots four of his last five remaining colours but leaves himself a double to win or lose the frame. He plays the double and the ball hits both knuckles and rolls all the way up the side cushion and drops in at the other end leaving a tap-in black to go back ahead. Could possibly be the most decisive frame of the match. Rob Goldsworthy 2-3 Rod Burrows.

Frame 6: For the first time in the match Rod pots one off the break and makes good use of it meaning that when Rob came to the table he was up against it. This ultimately wins Rod the frame and takes him to within one frame of the title. Rob Goldsworthy 2-4 Rod Burrows.

Frame 7: If Rob was feeling the pressure then he didn't show it as his break was again a lethal weapon, this time however he puts it to the ultimate use and went on to clear up from the break, sending out a message that the match was far from over. Rob Goldsworthy 3-4 Rod Burrows.

Frame 8: Normal service is resumed for Rod as again he comes up dry from the break for the third time in the evening. Rob takes advantage of this and after a couple of visits each Rob clears up to the black but then sees a straightforward shot on the black rattle in the jaws and stay out, the saving grace being that it was covering one of Rod's balls. Rod snookers Rob but Rob grabs the bull by the horns and plays to get out of the snooker with bags of side and pots the black to force the match into a decider. Rob Goldsworthy 4-4 Rod Burrows.

Frame 9: Rob's break again leaves him in a postion to clear up but with 2 yellows to go he falls out of position and Rod can breathe again. He leaves Rob with one of his object balls and black tied up but Rob pots his open ball and goes into the cluster to free his other ball and the black which he achieves but at the same time pots one of Rod's balls and also gives him a foul snooker. Rod doesn't need asking twice and pots the remaining balls to edge a great quality match. Rob Goldsworthy 4-5 Rod Burrows.
