As i work early and late shift patterns what happens if comp nite falls when i`m on lates ?

in the copy of the rules i sent out with the form it states that all matches must be played on the designated night and at the designated venue failure to comply with these rules will see you eliminated from the competition.

Surely there must be room for a mutual change to accomodate players on shifts ? poor standard!!

Sooty old boy! Last year i was allowed to change the day of my match with jamie turnbull because i was on a late shift. If two players agree to play the match at the venue selected on a diffrent date why is that a problem buds? As long as they inform you of what is going on and phone in the result to yourself i can't see any problem! There could be a very good reason why that a player/players can't make that night and you are willing to kick them out! Surely you would want as many entries as possible in to make the comp more competitive and more to enter?

have to agree with murphs as long as there is relevant notice and it doesnt fudge up somebody elses prep then it shouldnt be a problem,these are guys that want to play sooty,for years we have been turning up to venues and our opp doesnt turn up,now we have a steady ship with a comp secretary things like this does no longer happen.its up to you mate but its only a couple of players it affects who want to play and last year it went hunky dory,plus those shark buggers are going out first round anyway he he.........especially if murphs draws me!!!!

Let's not all get on Sooty's back here, he's set these rules for a good reason. Let's not forget about some of the early rounds when you have two rounds to play on one night - there is no way we can expect the other three players to have to change all their plans for one player and then you've got the problem of trying to find a suitable date for all concerned. Also, the date of the final should not be up for being arranged, we had that happen in the Team KO and it was an absolute farce. The comp draw allows the landlords to see when they've got matches there and some of them put on food, staff etc so it's not fair to muck them about when they've been so good as to let us play there. I'm happy to go along with whatever's decided but where do you draw the line if a few players decide they don't fancy playing on the alloted date then it becomes a joke. We don't want to set a precedent for everyone to do what they like. If you're going to allow rearranged games then they should have to be played before the scheduled date of the match and only at the aggreement of the opponent, if your opponent can't make any date other than the Monday then that's tough luck on the person who can't make the Monday. As you say, it's been allowed in the past but it's mucked about a lot of people and landlords who haven't been told of the changes early enough. Also any rearranged matches should have to be played at the designated venue regardless of if it features two team-mates from another venue.If these were all complied with then i'd not have a problem with reaarangements but the final say goes to Sooty.

Right to set it clear

As clifty said "if there is two rounds being played in one venue (and lets be honest there normally is ) it doesn't just affect 2 players it affects 4 players". Which ain't good and it won't happen !!!!

Don't get me wrong - the more players that enter the better but if you can't make the alocated day for the comps why enter ? i've stated in the past if your opponent isn't at the venue and you are when your match is scheduled to be played you have 30mins until you claim the game. If both players are happy to re arrange the match and i'm aware of it before it's scheduled and it affects no other matches i don't see a problem. Any re-arranged match is still to be played at the allocated venue if you try and rearrange a semi final or something that won't be allowed ! If your opponent doesn't want to re arrange then it tough your out !

As for venues and stuff no-one person will be playing on a home table in the first round !
