plz tell who u think the top 3 players in the league are?

Tricky question to answer as seems to go in patches. Last season Garry Potter was the outstanding player of the season as was proven with all the titles he won (even if he did cock up in the doubles, shame!!). The aggregate is normally a good indicator of the best players that season, provided they've played most of the matches. Without knowing everyone in the league this season i wouldn't like to comment but the people that finish top of the Aggregate and win the Singles KO tend to be there on merit. I'd be very surprised if many people choose the same 3 players as everyone has different opinions but i'd expect Garry Potter to be the one player who features in everyone's top three. At one time or another, i'd argue the case for any of my team being in there but i'm biased. Two players from other teams who have impressed me most over the seasons (although not neccessarily won the most) are Tyacks' Chris Isaacs (formerly Wills) and Lewis Saundry of the Bulls.

Varies depending on what mood i'm in. Used to keep the same order but this season i haven't kept the same order for two weeks on the trot as yet.

Not a problem Mr Saundry sir, just saying it as i see it. Mind you, i can't be the best judge of a pool player as the last player i signed was Tris! (i can say what i like about him as he's in London for the next three days so won't read this until Monday!).

I thought I’d get in on the action, it’s very hard to say who are the best three. The following names are from the fantasy league which happen in the winter.

The values were based on wins in the previous winter/summer and all competitions. Every person is beatable, it’s one-frame pool.

Mark Moyle is a quality pool player when he’s not losing the plot, on Sunday he was beaten in the VIL by Aaron Hill 6-4, Aaron only plays 4 or 5 frames a month for fun at my house and doesn’t know the rules that well.

So it’s all down to personal choice, but Gary Potter and Clifty are top two until someone proves otherwise

The Pistol is the current holder of the Summer Singles KO title, after coming back from 4-0 behind to beat Bally 5-4 in the final, not a bad achievement at all!

Really difficult to call the best 3 players in the league. To some extent depends on your criteria – are you after the most consistent person, best form player, best break and disher, player you’d want playing for your team in a one frame shootout, etc etc? Presuming that best player means playing consistently well enough to win and getting most wins over a season, I’d have to put Bally and Clifty down as shoo-ins. Both of them have a habit of winning even when they’re playing badly (which isn’t too often) and I’d feel pretty confident backing them against most players. Aggregates don’t lie and they’re always there or thereabouts. After that it’s pretty much of a lottery for third spot. Not always the most exciting player to watch but Jamie ‘the Wild Goat’ Turnbull always figures highly in the aggregate table and is difficult to beat, Robbie ‘Bobby G’ Goldsworthy is steady as a rock, Mark ‘The Mouth’ Moyle is more than capable but chucks it away with lack of consistency and lack of a head, Lewis from the Bulls is pretty solid when he can be arsed, Biggy or Tris on their day are able to biff anyone up, Chrissy Isaacs from the Pythons can dish from anywhere and is never short of confidence… Loads of candidates!!! Plus plenty more I haven’t got the time or energy to type and those I don’t know (new players this season, Sharks etc.) So to sum up, could probably pick out the 2 best players in the league or equally the 10 best players in the league, but inbetween is very difficult to call.

Bobby G gets my vote for figuring in the top 3. Went through a bit of a lean spell but firing again. Very steady if not the most spectacular.

I know you said it tongue in cheek son but on your day, i'd have no hesitation in putting you in the top three. I'm one of the few on here old enough to remember you winning quite a few singles titles and destroying quite a few 'so called big names'. I've also no doubt that you'll come good again and the signs have been good recently, not least your 4 out of 4 for the Vipers in our last Inter League game. Mind you, the fact that your missus is about to pop out your (or Biggy's???) sprog any day now could play havoc with your pool!

Cheers mate, I'm touched and not in a Michael Jackson kinda way! Well, as they say every dog has its day, even an old one. Enjoying pool again at the minute and, the Bally VIL match aside, am starting to play like I used to a few years ago which is always nice.

As for the sproglet playing havoc, it'll probably do my pool good as I'll be off out escaping all the time!!
