The bulls out of the title race already! I dont think so mr lane sir.As im a former team mate i know you boys can string a run of results together and certanly challange for the title.I must admitt that you havent had a good start to the season but this can soon change.We have had a a cracking start to the season with 3 out of our 4 wins coming against good sides.I must say my team are on a high at the moment and i like to see my team giving a bit of banter as it shows me they have the belief and team spirit to win and thats important.As the league being all over already i must disagree with this as well.The eagles have had a cracking start with no doubt but they havent played anyone yet! lets wait till they play the top sides and see where they are in the league! They also have to come to the shark pool and as people are getting well aware this aint an easy place to come and play and get a result and its about time you boys at the white hart give them eagles a hammering( no offence mr clift sir).

If any of the other sides can gain 41 points like we have from the 4 sides we've played and beat us as well then you'll deserve the league. We've got the Pythons next week, the only team to have beaten us in the last 3 and a half years so let's see how we do against them. We always seem to get teams talking about hammering us at this stage of the season so we'll just have to wait and see if it goes quieter later on. Always good to have a bit of competition though so let's see how it turns out.

Talk is cheap though. Back when Tyacks first beat us, everyone was saying how they were going to take our place at the top but look what's happened to them. It's how a team react to a defeat that really matters. Only time will tell and it's a bit early to talk about having the X-Factor me thinks but feel free to prove me wrong.

I totally agree that a good sign of champions is how they bounce back from defeat and you have proved that granted and we need to prove the same mentality but like everything in life everything has a shelf life and needs to be replaced with something new and like i said before maybe not this season but you know its coming!!!

See i don't buy into that as who knows what future seasons hold. You've got a young side so they could go on to win BUT some of the team could just as easily lose interest in pool; sacrifice pool for a new relationship; decide they would rather win trophies (???) in the other league etc.

but like everything in life everything has a shelf life and needs to be replaced with something new and like i said before maybe not this season but you know its coming!!!

They could well do that as like you said you never know what the future holds but these boys have been together down at the rbl for a while and love playing pool and snooker so i think the woman front wont make that much diffrence to them.Winning trophys in the other league has been done so theres no reason to play there again but taking the eagles crown will certainaly appeal to us!

Couple of points I thought I’d share, and apologies beforehand if I waffle on a tad:

First, if anyone feels that the Jolly's League is a Mickey Mouse affair, especially someone whose team has already lost 2 out of 4 matches this season and have never actually won the league, they should join the ‘other’ league, play bloody Disney characters every single week and then have a bag of chips, can of vimto (it is an occasion after all) and a celebratory circle jerk when they win the league by a mile. Then congratulate themselves and tell each other how they could win the Jolly’s easily if they only bothered entering. Personally I would have thought there would be much more satisfaction in competing against teams like the Eagles, Bulls and Sharks and knowing you’ve earned any good results you have and deserve your finishing position at the end of the season. Plus of course, if you do well getting a reward for it! But c’est la vie.

Second, the Bulls aint out of the title race! Well, no more so than they were before the season started… Just means they’ve given themselves a bit more to do than they would have liked, especially as they normally begin the season well. Dangerous side though, and will be interesting to see whether they re-group and come out ‘charging’ or get their cojones served up on a platter.

Big congrats to the Sharks on their first 4 results, some good wins and a very solid start to the season. Sure you would have taken your position now before the first match, especially after despatching the second and third best teams in the league (yourselves excluded of course). Not sure who plays for you apart from Mr Murphy, but if the team gels well in doubles and trebles and also keep firing in the singles then it will be interesting to see how the rest of your season goes. You’ve still got to play the Red Jackets twice, which should be a good contest and another benchmark to judge yourselves against. Nothing wrong with confidence, every good team needs it, providing it doesn’t slip into over-confidence. Also nothing wrong with a bit of banter, but mocking someone's chances of finishing second could easily backfire! Good luck for the rest of the season, hope I can come along at least once when you play the Eagles. And also, if confidence is still flowing strong I’m sure there will be an Eagle or two up for a little side bet!

Talking of the Eagles, it’s a solid start by the defending champs. You can only beat who’s in front of you and you couldn’t ask for more points from the 4 teams played. Tomorrow night’s match against the Pythons should be very interesting. Only team in recent history to beat us, but if we do them over and Sharks get another good result then they will be in the same dodgy situation as the Bulls, needing a great string of results to get themselves back in the business end of things.

All things considered, I think this season may be the closest for some time, with 4 seemingly capable teams competing as opposed to 2 just a couple of years ago. Not too shabby for a novelty style Summer league methinks!!

Makes no odds at all to me, a bit of banter is always good and anyway, I'm an Eagle! White Hart should be used to a bit of friendly 'banter' too from a few seasons back. I think they may have a point to prove re- coming second after the first post though! Good to see some more postings on here and also a bit of interest from a new side in the league who are obviously keen on playing pool.

As I said, good luck to everyone for the season... but particularly Red Jackets!!!

Never apologise for mocking the White Hart Bulls, that's what they are there for! (especially Sooty's silver trainers and very nice fleece, not to mention Mr Lane's pool bets!). God bless the Bulls, if it wasn't for them then we'd all have to find another team to mock although i suppose there's always the easy target of Paulo!

Thanks for the advice but as the Bulls know only too well, we've played them many times already and they're yet to beat us in a match so until that day (and even afterwards!) i'll keep mocking! Besides, anyone who wears silver trainers or bets £100 that the Bulls will win the league deserves to be mocked! Apologies if this offends any Bulls players out there...actually, screw you all, no i'm not! Eagles v Bulls used to be one hell of a match but not recently, hopefully one day it will return. As for updating the site, who knows, maybe i'll do it today, tomorrow or some other time when i've got enough free time.
