Singles Knockout Draw On Here To View

If you have a look on the Competitions tab at the top of the page and then click on the Singles Knockout, you'll be able to view all the draw. The Prelims commence on Monday 4th Feb with the First Round starting the week after on the 11th. A very good turnout of 38 entries especially when you consider there's only 10 teams in the league, so thanks to all who have entered.

Re: Singles Knockout Draw On Here To View

Ah yes my friend, Mystic Gerbil knows all?! Now if I get all the first round predictions correct I WILL be applying for a slot on breakfast TV! In fairness I would say (no disrespect to anyone) that 4 of the games last night were fairly easy to call. In the other 2, 'Numpty Paulo' couldn't be bothered to get off his Northern arse (why enter if ya aint gonna show, ya great turnip??) and, unfortunately, I called the other potentially tricky one correct as well - elimination for the Biggy BumBoy. Saying that, young matey you played looked a decent potter when he went for them. Let's hope the Rev doesn't ruin him early in his career. And pool-wise too?!

Re: Singles Knockout Draw On Here To View

Not too far away in fairness - 11 out of 13 right. Combined with the prelims = 17/19, pretty good going I reckon. Now if only I could get that percentage of wins in the aggregate... Or with my bets come to think of it?!

Predictions for the next round/s will appear soon!

Re: Singles Knockout Draw On Here To View

Gerbil, Gerbil, Gerbil, do you seriously expect me to believe that you think i'm going to beat you if we both win our second round matches? We both know son that you'd back yourself to get to the semis so what's with the mind games? Besides, Dick Ash is going to beat us both anyway!?! I'd better get through though as i'm sacrificing going up to Bristol to watch the mighty Palace beat Bristol Shitty on Monday evening. Everyone's got to back themselves and have a bit of confidence. I think there's a few matches and potential ties that are too close to call but the stand out tie for me is The Potter v The Pistol match, their first encounter since they met in the Summer League KO Final where Tris came back from 0-4 to win 5-4. You'd have to fancy Bally as he's the more experienced player but if Tris wins the first frame then it could be very interesting, for what it's worth, i think whoever wins the first frame will win the match.

Re: Singles Knockout Draw On Here To View

Clifty , Clifty, Clifty, that's exactly what I expect you to believe. No mind games mate, simple objectiveness and a stern dose of reality comes to the fore. If anyone's dabbling in the old mind games it's you - are you seriously suggesting you wouldn't put yourself as favourite against me?! Although it's true I've been playing a little better this season, it's still not great, and although you've been struggling a bit recently you always have a tendency to pull out just enough when it matters. I'd probably have a bit better chance if it was just a one off league frame, but best of 5 favours you too. Don't get me wrong, you're 100% correct when you say everyone should back themselves, and I know I can beat you tomorrow night, but I just feel that the balance of probabilities tilts the scales slightly in your favour. Therefore, that forms the basis of my prediction for you to win. Although granted, it's by no means a cast iron certainty and I'll be doing my utmost to prove myself wrong!!!

But hey, as you say, after all that sh*te it'll probably be a moot point anyway, as Dick Ash'll probably do for both of us at his home venue!

I would indeed put myself as favourite BUT surely a prediction is who you think is going to win, not who's favourite to win, a rather amusing example of this is those scouse pratts who lost at home to Barnsley yesterday - now i fancied Barnsley to do them as, let's be honest, Liverpool are a poor excuse for a footie side but Liverpool were the favourites to win...although they didn't manage to, shame!

*****JOLLY'S LEAGUE DISCLAIMER***** I would just like to point out that the views expressed by myself on the subject of Liverpool being a joke are my views and not those expressed by the League as a whole...although i'm willing to wager that a fair few of the people reading this agree with me!

Re: Singles Knockout Draw On Here To View

That's because they've probably got exactly the same mentalitiy as you!

Anyway, let's not turn this into a football debate. Back on subject, Bally v Tris should indeed be a cracker, as should a few of the others.

Not that it'll probably affect me (ahem) but I'm presuming that as the Competition Secretary has had an early exit he will be reffing the semis and final? Be a nice touch wouldn't it?
