Come on boys lets get it together on the pool table!!!! We seem to not have that killer instinct around the baize at the moment.Theres plenty of togetherness and quality within the team but just a lacking of killing off our opponent and this is costing us valueable points and a chance of winning the league. I challange our team to start from this week to go to the end of the season unbeaten and show some true grit and tenacity and prove we are genuine title contenders may be not this season but next season onwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree joe this league is better.Its got better teams,tables to play on and a better format of play but like i said before there are still a few good pool players in the other league which could stand toe to toe with any player in this league.Its a shame there is two seprate leagues and not 1 big league split into 2 divisions so all the good players would play against each other but thats the way things are! I dont think the puffers were happy with me leaving them and going back to the white hart but most of the pool was shite and it was bringing me down with it and i was not happy there.So i returned back to the dark side and im starting to enjoy my pool again.Tell us when ur back down again so we can arrange another few frames together.Maybe u may win a few more frames off me this time buds!!!! lol.:-)

I agree that it is a shame there are separate leagues and i'd love for all the teams to be able to play each other just so we could see who are the better teams BUT there wouldn't have been separate leagues if we actually received trophies in the other league which, incidentally we still haven't received from as far back as Summer 2004, Winter 2004-05, Summer 2005, Winter 2005-06 and Summer 2006! The only reason this league started is because we received nothing for winning the other leagues. Now before people say that it's the taking part that counts, then if that's true why did we pay to register teams and players as if there's no need to purchase trophies, you can run a league with free entry. All money that comes in for this league gets ploughed straightback into trophies as what else do you need the money for? Everyone on the committee gives their time for free and no one makes any money out of it. Have the teams received trophies for the recent seasons in the other league? If so then i'd be interested to know when we'll get ours? These aren't questions aimed at you Mr Murphy sir, these are just random thoughts of mine. I think it's testament to the strength of this league when you see Trevenson doing so well in the other league with exactly the same players that they had in this league. Just out of interest Mr Murphy, who do you think would win in a match between the Puffers and White Hart A?

Clifty, I spoke to Knuckey again last week about this having gone back to the Oxford and actually being able to get hold of him now. He insists that we're holding a presentation this year and I will remind him about his promise that all old trophies will be honoured. I doubt you're all that bothered by now but if you won trophies then we all deserve to get them. Even I'm owed at least 1 from those seasons, so long has passed I can only remember the last one.

I agree wholeheartedly that we should not have two leagues and I know why it had to happen. I only play where I do coz I was fed up struggling for players and wanted to play back at the oxford. If they'd turn to the dark side I'd play in this league for many reasons. I can't understand players who insist best of 9 is the better format. I much prefer the format with the exception of scottish doubles. Hopefully one day things can be done to maybe merge the two leagues back together. Remembering when I started playing pool on Wednesdays we had at least 4 divisions but now we've only enough sides for 2 between us. I'm actually on the committee of the other league still as they didn't remove me even though I wasn't playing in their league. I'll try to mention some form of competition between the sides of both leagues as it's only a few people who don't see eye to eye, not the teams as a whole. That's if we ever have a meeting!

Mr Clift Sir! I belive the white hart A team would win by some ease! Thats not to disrespect the lads at the puffers as they are a cracking bunch to play pool with. Simon & Wayne knuckey would be the the hardest frames as both are good players but pool is a funny game and like you know if the balls are there to be potted then anyone can pot 8 balls in a row.I know this league was started coz no trophys were given to the teams who won them and i agree with you for starting this league coz of that.On a diffrent note i see i've drawen Mr Turnball in the singles comp! If both players bring thier best game to the baize it should be a cracking match. Who do you fancy to win the singles title and whose your dark horses?

it was a shame you left, esp considering new inns now got 9 players to call on and i even managed to get mr gee back which wasnt bad going since at xmas we had 3 players

Well what can i say were playing like numpty's at the moment. if were winning were not winning well enough to challenge. We keep losing singles and that aint good. A few members are having mares at the moment and its taking it toll. Hopefully we can have a better second half of the season COME ON WHITE HART !!!!!!!!!
