Re: CRPPL Competitions Start Dates?

Mr Gerbal Its a good and relevant question... Firstly i have sent off the singles competition forms this morning to all the relevant pubs. the hand in date is next friday 25th i believe. and the comp will start on the 4th of feb. The comp will be played on monday evenings either at 7.30 or 8 pm. Format will depend on number of entries

Before the final of the singles i will be sending out the doubles forms which will have a twist in it this year. You don't get to choose your partners. You enter your name and on a monday night probably in white hart all the entries will be drawn. so you could end up playing with anybody. A little even i think this way any questions just ask Cheers sooty

Re: CRPPL Competitions Start Dates?

I like the idea of the doubles ko comp but i trust there will be a normal doubles comp sometime as well so the champions can defend their title and to allow people to go with who they want, seeing as we all have our preferred doubles partners in the league? (you try telling Tris and Biggy that they won't be able to play together!)

Re: CRPPL Competitions Start Dates?

Indeed it is my intension to run a normal doubles comp. but it really depends if their is time. As for mr prigg and biggy they'll have to make do with the league doubles at the moment

As the Team KO doesn't finish until May 7th and the Summer League doesn't normally start until later than that, i would've thought there would be time. My understanding (rightly or wrongly) of the new doubles comp was it's meant as a bit of added fun and not in substitution of the usual annual doubles event that we have a perpetual shield, for especially as there is no doubles comp in the summer league.

I'm sure Biggy and Priggy will be thankful for that!!

Re: CRPPL Competitions Start Dates?

After a bit of thought The normal doubles should and probably will go ahead of the new one, especially as their is a trophy for it. While giving it some thought insterad of doubles why not 3's a bit different every game best 15 still have a draw for your partners ? what do you think? either way

Re: CRPPL Competitions Start Dates?

I'm happy with whatever you think Mr O'Mahony sir, the more comps the better as far as i'm concerned and why not try different things, just so long as we include the traditional singles and doubles as we already have the perpetual trophies for these. Obviously all the winners of any new comps will get trophies as well.
