Money Matches over X-mas?

Anybody out there from the "premier" pool league fancy playing each other for a money match. I am up for teaching Murvaish a lesson on how to do his talking on the green baize. maybe if there are some grudges between other players out there maybe we can organise a money match night sponsered by the CRPPL league!

Sounds like a great idea joe these money matchs! With the money i take off you that will pay for my nights out over christmas and new years eve! I must say you must be loaded coz if you challange people for money with a bad game like yours then you must be out of pocket quite a bit!!!!!LOL. Anyway my friend you know what to ask santa for this year? YES! thats right - some pool ability!! MERRY CHRISTMAS JOE!!!

Re: Money Matches over X-mas?

murvaish you do make me smile. i think it would be a good match and whoever won would deserve to have the bragging rights. But IF i won i wouldnt brag i would probably invite you out to my celebration party on news years eve :-) what other players would you like to see playing each other if it turned into a money match night?

Re: Money Matches over X-mas?

Well thankyou joe for the invite! I might just except your invertation! I do believe it would be a good match between the both of us as we are both competative players who hate to lose and likewise i would'nt boast about the match if i won and if i was beaten i would be graceful in defeat as i would have enjoyed the competition between the both of us! Theres nothing better than having a bit of rivalry between players to get you motivated before a game.As for the grudge matches:

ALEX(THE DADDY)LANE V HOBBO THE HOBBIT

MARK(THE MOUTH)MOYLE V DICKIE(THE BEST PUB IN TOWN)BRAY

PAUL(MURVAISH)MURPHY V JOE(THE TORMENTOR)TONKIN

JOE(THE TORMENTOR)TONKIN V ANY ONE FROM THE TYACKS A' SIDE!!!!!

LEWIS(PINGU)SAUNDRY V ANDY(THE JUKEBOX)JORY

LEWIS(PINGU)SAUNDRY V DAVE MOORE & MISSES

If you or anyone else can think of a grudge match then add them on!!!!

Re: Money Matches over X-mas?

How's about Red Jackets Eagles v Tyacks Hotel A just so we can prove that we can beat them...honest! Or Red Jackets Eagles v Rest of the League - a squad of 8 players made up from any other teams in the league with the Red Jackets team putting up £200 and the Rest of the League team putting up £150 - winner takes all played over the 15 frame format. Rest of the League team can be selected by any means eg Aggregate or someone can just assemble a squad and get the money together - game on!

Re: Money Matches over X-mas?

I'm liking the ideas Clifty, but if a match couldn't be arranged then to throw a few individual match ups into the shake up from the top of my head:

Please note, some of these may not be 'grudge' matches as such, but just ones that I'd quite like to see take place!

* Murphy v Tonkin

* Prigg v O'Mahony

* Jory v Saundry

* Clift v Wills

* Metcalfe v Lane

I reckon any of these matches would be quite entertaining, although maybe not just because of the pool playing ability on show! Sounds like a cracking evening, especially with the possibility of a little side bet or two to spice things up! Anyway, I'm throwing my hat into the ring by saying I'd be up for a match with someone if it goes ahead. Anyone else a definite??? If so, let's discuss a date and get it on! Come on boys, don't be shy!!

Re: Money Matches over X-mas?

P.s - I'd have to strongly advise anyone to go up against me for money. I'm not the player I was (and I was never that great anyway!) but I just love the game and am willing to play for a few spondulicks, so a spot of easy pickings for ya in the run up to xmas!!

I think it'd be better for people to play players from different teams if possible mate, but if nobody steps forward then yeah, we'll definitely have a game for a few squid!
