BUTLINS!!!
With the long weekend 'pool competition' (ha!) that is Minehead Butlins fast approaching, I thought I'd start a random thread on it.
First off... you sent our forms away yet Clifty?!?
Anyway, providing we're all good to go, I'm really looking forward to it again. It's one of the few things that never disappoints even after all the hype leading up to it.
Shame that Bally won't be going this year but on the plus side, great news that Robbie Roy and the Big Man will be present! Wouldn't be the same without them. Also the Pistol as well, sure he will fit right in with the spirit of the weekend. I feel the true winners though are the remainder of the Truro team. I'm sure we're all most jealous of the entertainment that will be available on tap from Mr Penfold AND Mr Turnbull - you lucky, lucky people!!!
Be interesting to see what Mr Lane thinks of the experience. I'm sure he will partake of a few sociable bevvies with us. Let me be the first to predict he will raise a WH side to participate next year after seeing what it's all about this time round!
On the subject of bevvies, how do people feel about hitting Minehead town for one night this year? Could drag a few people along for a bit of a giggle, few pubs, maybe hit a cheesy club, something different than normal maybe? Just an option, throwing it out there, seeing what people think...

re: BUTLINS!!!
Absolutely ridiculous shout son as myself and the Big-man will be too busy belting out the classics in the karaoke bar every night me thinks...that's if the Big-man (aka Mr Lover-Lover) is not on the phone to his new missus all the time! Anyway Gerbil, i can reveal that all the Red Jackets Eagles players will be in attendance (provided they accept our somewhat late form!) as Garry Potter is going as a replacement for Mr Verran in the Turo side. On the subject of Mr Ball, i predict that he'll be the next one to do a Gerbil/Biggy (???) and get himself a missus, my prediction is it will happen at Butlins...watch this space! (go on Bally, i know you're dying to respond to this...probably saying 'we're just good friends' ). Anyway back to the topic, i don't think Mr Prigg is so keen on the weekend now that i've sent him a pic of his room-mate 'walking' around the chalet from a previous trip there! One final thing, i can't wait to see just how many stripey jumpers you bring with you Gerbil - i might even run a sweepstake on it!

BUTLINS - Favourite Memories!!!
Cos there have been some crackers!
Obviously being careful to take note of the Minehead mantra, "What happens in Butlins stays in Butlins", whoever went can guess a few that aren't on here.
So, as they say on X Factor, in no particular order...
Robbie Roy falling into the pond. Then just sitting there. Then hanging his money over a radiator to dry!
The streak around the chalets - giving a young couple returning from the club a very nasty surprise.
An unsuspecting Clifty turning round to find himself 'eye-to-eye' with a naked Big Man. Except for socks! One in the eye you might say.
The Doc baring his behind, to the consternation of all involved.
Another classic from the Doc - just pulling into the car park with a wide open window and GP shouting about Biggy's 'tendencies' towards certain groups of the community! "Lock your kids up" being one quote!
A sleeping Robbie having something dangled inches away from his unsuspecting face.
Me falling off a table in the middle of 'dancing' in the pub.
Plus a couple of others I couldn't possibly mention on here!! If any others stick in your mind, add them on! Have to say that although every year is quality, the first year stands out for me - jam packed full of memorable moments!!!

re: BUTLINS - Favourite Memories!!!
Ah, the memories! I complete forgot about you falling off the table in the bar - funnny as! Actually that was when you were chatting up those two women with a combined age of 237...don't deny it son as even Biggy said they were old enough to be your grandmas! (if Mrs Gerbil reads this then fear not as that was in the old days before he started wearing stripey jumpers and going for romantic walks along the beach, not to mention listening to Lionel Ritchie whilst gazing at the stars!!!). Your streak was definitely the funniest moment and the scariest moment was being millimetres away from Biggy's trouser snake...pity it wasn't still in its trouser! Another moment i won't forget was Mr Hasson wanting to join me on my bed at 3am so he jumped on the bed and bounced straight off through the window smashing it to pieces. Also who could forget Garry Potter going round inviting complete strangers (weirdos mainly...and not even female!) back to our chalet in the middle of the night to have a party and play poker! Hopefully this year will be as good as the rest.

Also another one just sprung to mind, the chatting up of Biggy from the chip shop Chernobyl girl. Just imagine the kids...
