RJ Eagles v White Hart A - Monday Night (6th August)
The rearranged game between the Eagles and White Hart 'A' is on monday night at Red Jackets (8pm). Should be an interesting game and i've got a feeling it could be quite eventful!

This may be a match worth watching. The two heavy weights going head to head to make a huge step towards winning the league(as well as bragging rites).Theres always a few frames with which a peice of luck or pure class wins it for team.I think this match is gona have some added spice about it! Will a certain someone keep his mouth and manners in check and play like a proper sportsman or will his mouth start going off and throwing his toys out of the play den as normall? I fancy the later to happen!!!! I hope the white hart boys win so the league will be more intresting.May the best team win on the nite.

Should certainly be entertaining and yes, may well be eventful too! Usually a good battle between the 2, and one of the few reasons I'm sorry to have given up pool for the Summer. Agree with Mr Murphy, it'll be interesting to see who keeps a cool head and who loses the plot more than Biggy reading War and Peace. Personally (and hopefully being unbiased) I think WH have more players capable of letting circumstances affect them and their game. But saying that, there's normally a bit of a spark to the match and I'm sure it'll be one worth watching. A lot may depend on how the WH new boys react to playing against the Eagles. Again, may the best team win.

Predictions
Predictions for tonight's match...

1. There will be, at the very least, one reffing decision viewed as extremely controversial.
2. This decision will lead to extra tension between the ref/opposition player/home player/any combination of the three.
3. At least twice as much banter will be chucked about as you would find at any other match in the league season, from any other teams.
4. Several toys will be thrown out of various prams (from either team!). This is not unrelated to prediction 3...
5. Traditionally slow players will take about twice as long as normal to finish their frames.
6. 'Fast' players will rush through at least a couple of shots at a ridiculous pace before drawing breath.
7. There will be at least 2 quality finishes to frames.
8. There will be at least 2 frames which neither player deserves to win, probably topped off by 18 misses each on the black before it's left hanging over a pocket.
9. The losing team will feel hard done by, no matter what the score and no matter how well/badly they played.
10. There will be vague, indiscriminate murmurs of "....next time....lucky....flukes...." by the losing side as soon as the match is lost.
So all in all, a typical RJ/WH match I reckon!!

18 misses on a black - are you sure Gerbil...let's not forget you're not playing for us this season son!?! The rest of the predicions are pretty spot on though me thinks. I have got a little feeling that it could kick off a bit tonight...although obviously i hope not!?! Just fingers crossed we don't go 5-1 down in ths match before coming to life! Having said all this, it will probably turn out to be a boring match!

re: Predictions
Well a pretty uneventful match if the truth be told but the result was the important thing and we're happy with a 7-4 win. Garry Potter's quality clearance to win his singles was one of the highlights of the night and Happy Birthday to the wee man as he turns 25 on Tuesday (7th August) - have a good one son and well played tonight. The league table has been updated.

re: Predictions
Yes I would agree with you Mr Clift Sir, pretty boring in terms of banter and arguements, although Joseph was ready to burst after Prigger (who must have stepped in sh*t before playing) had the luck of his life with removing that red to finish over the middle pocket, but hey credit where credits due, he stuck at it, although lack of knowing the rules or just pressure was telling as it seemed a bit wayward from 'The Pistol' at times. Anyway I made a brief appearance, with one eye working. Congrats to RJ's on beating us yet again and I think it's safe to say the days of slagging each other off are fading out...

re: Predictions
Lewis you know you make your own luck in pool, on a different day that red would of gone safe. Joe should of burst, that was his game from when he covered that corner pocket.

re: Predictions
Yeah, truth be told the match was pretty uneventful. A cracking dish out of nowhere from Bally in the singles and a good little take out from Bally and Clifty in doubles. Nothing else of any real note, apart from maybe Mr Tonkin spectacularly imploding when in an almost unlosable position! Fair play to Tris for digging in and showing grit, but 1 or 2 shot choices may have been a little dubious from both players. The tension/rivalry does seem to have faded a little, going on last night the match aint what it used to be! I'm sure the Eagles would have taken the result before the match started though, so well done lads, strengthens the position at the top of the league and sets up the season nicely.

re: Predictions
Yeah I can understand Joe's frustration, I'd imagine all the RJ's lot had the same thought as us, Joe had the game sewn up. There were a few positions were Tris could have buggered Joe up but possibly failed to see it. I totally agree with Jory, well done for sticking in but what else could you do???
The days where we used to fall out and have arguements etc was actually when neither of us got on but I have to say, most of us get on now and appreciate each others ability. There's certainly more respect there now!

re: Predictions
A bit harsh to call Tris lucky as he played to get his ball out and it worked but i understand what you're saying. To be fair, Joe only had himself to blame for leaving Tris in a position to do that. Joe played a great game to put himself in total control but just seemed to choose the wrong shots towards the end although he redeemed himself with a great black in the doubles. It's the same as saying that Dan was lucky to win against Robbie when in reality Dan deserved to win because Rob missed the black, nothing lucky about it just bad play from Rob. If players don't take their chances then they're going to lose eventually. Anyway it makes a change for me to stick up for the Pistol as i'm more used to giving him a few ear bashings...strangely, normally after he wins but he deserves them and he knows it! With regards to the respect between the teams, totally agree as more people on each team get on (i blame the website for letting us have civilised chat!) although don't you think it was a lot more fun in the good old days? Anyway i've waffled on enough so that'll do.
