Well in another post Mr Lane said the start will be crucial in the Eagles game away to Tuckingmill tonight...not as crucial as the end so it proved! We started off quite (???) poorly tonight and went 3-0 and then 5-1 down! I would make excuses blaming the table and everything but that had nothing to do with it and i had no quibble with it all, we were getting thumped on merit. We deserved to be losing and in all honesty we should've gone 6-1 down but Tuckingmill couldn't pot the black. From then on we sensed there was a glimmer of hope and so it proved, with us winning the final 5 frames to mug them at the death. Hard luck to the Tigers, it just wasn't to be. Elsewhere, i hear that in the White Hart derby, the A side ran out 6-5 winners so a good fight put up by the B side. Tyacks triumphed 9-2 over Red Jackets B so they're starting to put together a good run as well. Unaware of the Trevenson v Cricket Club result at the mo so will wait until that comes in before updating the league table.

Warning ..... Very long post!!!!!!

Well, I'll let you have the result Clifty, we won 6-5 but in all honesty the match turned nasty during and after the final doubles when I played a deliberate foul. I honestly thought people didn't get upset about them these days but it resulted in "blind" refereeing which favoured the home side and constant heckling, sniping and barracking which we had to endure for the whole trebles. In all fairness, with a patched up side we should be happy with a win but on the night we played outstanding and only bad luck stopped the margin being greater.

Just a shame that the opposition didn't keep to the spirit of the game because it ruined what should have been a good night. Once again there is an issue here with some players unbelievably still not knowing the rules. It's funny how these controversial decisions seem to always favour their own side though!!!

Scottish doubles and trebles are a great bit of fun but it seems they lead some sides to lose the plot of the rules when playing them on several pints of beer. We kept being accused of playing out of order because we were not following the same opponent, something that always changes as soon as either side pots a ball!!! On top of that, they gave advice to their own players on their visit. And they were trying to claim the game for us playing in the correct order! At the end of the day I can say we all did ourselves proud, kept our annoyance at the bad sporting actions to a minimum and ground out the win, winning both games with the most controversy in them against the odds. At the end of the day though it's a match I'll remember for all the wrong reasons and certain members of Trevenson's side ought to be ashamed of themselves. I signed two new players to play last night and I'm not even the captain, both played well and I hope they'll play again for us but it was not a great advert for the league and I can only hope they aren't put off playing again.

Sorry for the length of the post, but I was fuming last night and just wanted to get this off my chest.
