I went to see Casey yesterday. He is in good spirits and joking as normal. Thought I would fill you in first hand to save all the wonderful rumours that are circulating.

Casey was hit by a lorry while he was standing on the hard shoulder off his bike.

He broke both ankles, pelvis, most ribs on one side, shoulder and collar bone and punctured a lung. more seriously (!) he severed 2 of the 3 parts of his spinal cord. His helmet definately saved his life.

HOWEVER!...

He is doing amazingly well and although he cant walk yet he can pull himself up in the bed and is really positive (as well as lucky). They are probably transferring him to barncoose soon and the physio will start to work on him soon.

All he wants is a pint and a game of pool!!

I passed on messages from those of you that had wished him well.

Glad to hear that he's well...well, as well as you can be with those injuries but good to hear he's remaining in good spirits and moving to Barncoose soon. Sounds like he's started the road to recovery and hopefully we'll see him out and about having that beer in the not too distant future.
