Illogan not happy
Morning everybody, Yep we lost last night to camborne cricket club fair play they played well! However, Me and my team were not happy with the events of last night! Has you know i rarely ever make complaints in fact i don't think in the 14 years that I have been playing the team has ever made a complaint, but i think last night my good nature was taken for granted! I was told at the begining of the night that two of the players were going to be late due to playing in a five a side match in truro which i had no problem with but i wasn't told that they were going to be TWO hours late! They both rolled into illogan legion at 10 oclock, as you can imagine the whole night was chopping and changing from singles to doubles! I'd like to think that i have always been fair and giving to teams but i think that i was manipulated last night as these players were there best players and when they aventually got there had back to back games straight off! If these players want to play in a truro league then play in that, i have no problem with players being half an hour to an hour late but TWO hours is just taking the pee! Has you are probably aware i'm not happy at all, frankly i am dissapointed with the people involved and my team are all wound up about it! I was told that jo the captain was playing it fair by putting these two in the second set of six but they freated to leave the team, Fair play to jo for trying to play it fair! I realise that the night is over with know and that these players would have probably won their matches any way but it is just the whole situation that i find dissapointing, i know realise that i'm going to have to not be as giving about these situations, as people are just treating me a push over! Sorry for ranting on so much but i felt i needed to make our point Clear!

sue.im totally with you on this, last night i feel the upmost piss was taken and i will be sure to have a word with the people concerned, not only is it wrong but it also gives the cricket club a bad name and i can only apoligise on behalf of the club and will ensure a repeat of this does not happen again.

SUZIE I AGREE ENTIRELY WITH YOU AND MR LANE.
IT REFLECTS BADLY ON THE CRICKET CLUB AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I BELIEVE OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE QUITE INTERESTING !!! IF I WAS IN YOUR POSITION ON WEDNESDAY SUE I WOULD OF CLAIMED THE GAMES AFTER THE END OF THE FIRST SINGLES OR MAYBE DOUBLES. BY ANY CHANCE DID THEY HAVE MORE THAN 4 PLAYERS THERE WHILE YOU WERE WAITING FOR THE OTHER 2 TO TURN UP ???? FOR EXAMPLE WAS THERE A PLAYER WHO WASN'T MEANT TO BE PLAYING THE FIRST SINGLES BUT WHO COULD'VE PLAYED THE SINGLES??

re: Illogan not happy
Now i agree with what Miss M is saying and everyone should be there on time BUT (and it's a big but!) i would say that the time to do something about it was whilst the match was happening and tell them that they had to play someone else and that you wouldn't wait for the other 2 players. I'm guessing (and only guessing!) that you agreed to wait for them hence them playing but if you had not agreed then it wouldn't (and couldn't) happen. I know you agreed because it's in your nature and you didn't expect them to be so late but to stop things like this happening then the only way is to not agree or say you'll wait an hour but not any longer. I'm not taking their side at all (as players should be there to play on time) and don't get me wrong, Paulo is a complete numpty, i'm just saying that they didn't force you to play the games. On this subject anyway, i am reliably informed that Paulo won't be playing in the Truro league after Christmas so this problem will not occur again although i appreciate that this doesn't help your situation at all.

re: Illogan not happy
Morning Mr Clift! I agree i should have not let this go ahead on the night and i am anoyed with myself for letting this happen! I know we can't change it know and i wouldn't want to, my point is that these players are just out for themselves in trying to get into the arrgregate table for the end of the season and its making a mockery out of your league, people are blaming the format to leave the league when thats got nothing to do with it! I know for a fact that this has happen on at least three occasions in five weeks, and i realise that they may not be playing in the truro league after xmas but people are not happy at all with whats been going on! I never realised the extent of what has been happening regarding the cricket club side but i have been approached with a number of stories! I'm not having a go at you adam you know i've supported this league from the beginning and i'm with you totally but, i'm just really really peed off with the whole situation!

Paulo finishing high in the aggregate...you're having a laugh! With regards to the rest of what you're saying, i agree with the point your making and as far as i've been made aware this problem will not be happening again - if it does for any reason then the opposing teams should claim the frames. If teams want to leave the league because of that then that's their prerogative but they will find there are far worse problems in some other leagues.

re: Illogan not happy
I do indeed know where you are coming from Miss M and i've said already i agree that they were in the wrong no doubt about it. I'm just saying that the only way this could have been stopped is for them to have not been allowed to do it on the night. I'm sure the Cricket Club side didn't realise it would cause this much ill feeling and now they are aware of it then this will not happen in the future. I think the fact that Paulo is giving up playing in the Truro league is testament to this. Apologies if you feel that i'm not 100% behind your grievance as i am but what has happened has been allowed to happen and looking to the future i'm sure you've had a positive effect on the league as a whole by bringing this to light.

re: Illogan not happy
Can I just appologise on behalf of my team. I did not realise ccc had been so royaly peeing everyone off. I thought it was just me as captain having the headache! Wednesday night was by far the latest Corran and Paul have been and I totally agree that you were right to be cross. If we know they are going to be late for a match we always clear it with the other team at the beginning of the night and I always try to play the 5 players we have there. Unfortunately on Wednesday I was unable to be there at the beginning myself. I spoke to Adam at the beginning of the season and he took the stance that if a team were happy to be accommodating then that was fine but if they wished to claim games then there would be nothing we could do. I totally agree with this and I would not try and force any team to wait if they were unhappy. Most teams have been very kind (not mentionning our dearest friend Hobbo).
I have suggested to Paul that he considers playing for just one team after Christmas, but it appears now that the league may take this decision out of his hands.
At the end of the day pool is supposed to be fun. CCC are a fun and fair team and I dont want us to end up with a shocking reputation. I will do my best to ensure that this situation is resolved to all your liking (but only if you promise not to hold it against us forever!!!).
Sorry again, especially to Sue. Jo

re: Illogan not happy
Hiya! Thanks for your support on this boyz! No they only had four players up till about 9.30 when jo turned up! In hein sight i should have claim the games before starting the second set, but to be honest simon i don't like playing like that, I never have, i think my team think I should have claimed the games! this is one of the reasons I am so dissappointed in these players I think its taking the pee out of my good nature! Also I think these players are being very selfish and all they are worried about is their aggregate which is making a mockery of the league! I heard that they had one of their players drag one of their games out for an hour and twenty minutes which he lost just to bide time for them to get there! Its blinking disgusting! Anyway its almost xmas yippy!!

re: Illogan not happy
My apologies sue on upsetting you and your team, in my defence although not a good one it was a doubles semi final, which i didn.t know until tues evening that it was played on wed instead of sunday and on wed it was played at 8pm instead of 7.30 if that makes any sense. so all i can do is send my apologies and asure you this will not happen again. As a new year resolution if any member of the ccc is not there by the 6th frame then we shall forfeit that game and we shall do likewise with our opponants.

re: Illogan not happy
Thank you for your appolgy paul its very much appreicated and I shall pass that on to the other members of my team! I do hope you can see where we were coming from on the subject, but that is in the past now and hope there will not be any ill feeling between our teams the next time we meet! I think it would be a good idea if claiming the game if the persons as not shown by the beginning of the doubles is a good idea! We shall put this down to a learning curve and just carry on with what we all enjoy and that is playing pool!

re: Illogan not happy
I think the main point everyone can gather from the whole sorry experience is:
PAULO'S A NUMPTY!!!
In fairness he was a bit late against us, but we waited cos if they threw someone else in that would have been in their favour...
