Just to put the record straight (as there does appear to have been a lot of rubbish spouted), i resigned as League Secretary of the CRDPL and told the committee at a meeting 6 months ago that i'll be running another league in competition this winter. The reason for my resignation was simply due to the fact that i had been unable to hold presentation evenings over the past 2 years because 2 other committee members were having trouble swapping the names on the bank accounts over - that's not me criticising anyone that's just a fact. I didn't call an EGM for the other league (as was suggested i should've done at the registration night for this league) as i was no longer on the committee plus that is normally for a chairman to do. The other league's committee has had 6 months knowing that i was running another league which, in my opinion, is ample time to organise everything. I enjoyed my time on the committee of the CRDPL and started a website for them, as well as getting the results and league tables in the paper every week over the last season and only once were the results not included over the past 2 years so i don't necessarily think that this was bad (especially in comparison to the summer league). Anyway, all i want to do now is run a league where everyone knows where they stand and the trophy winners will get rewarded at the end of the season (as yet no member of mine and many other teams have received a trophy for the past two Winter and Summer seasons). Every team has a choice of what league to play in and i've rearranged the fixtures accordingly so pubs with teams in both leagues can still compete in both. I don't see what is wrong with giving people the choice of what league they want to play in and i'm sure that this will improve both leagues as we'll both strive to give the players what they want so that's got to be a good thing. I thank every team who made the choice to play in this league and i can assure you that this league will not just be a flash in the pan and it will continue for as long as teams want to play in it.

Bravo! Mr clift, I am glad you finally have made a statement to let people know your side of the situation and hope that now people will just get on with what really matters and that is the pool (which ever league they have decided to join)!

Thanks Miss M. I just thought i'd say something seeing as i keep hearing how disloyal i am and the anti-christ of pool in Camborne-Redruth! I'm sure there are people who still won't want to believe anything i've said but they are the facts and if someone wants to tell me different then that's up to them. Anyway that is the past now and the fact is this league is up and running so lets play darts!?!
